NPCs#
- New boss: The Lampwarden, in the vein chamber at the bottom of the Crystal Mine. He fights with magic alone, never a plain hit, in a fixed order you can learn: Crystal Shatter, Crystal Furrow, Shatter, Crystal Cage. Below a quarter HP he speeds up
- Crystal Shatter bursts as a + of spikes, then as an ร. Stand in the gaps or get clear
- Crystal Furrow sends three lines of spikes out from him. Step between them
- Crystal Cage rings you in spikes with one gap on the far side from him. Run for the gap before the inside bursts
- Each Shatter leaves a crystal on the floor. At 60% and 30% HP he raises his lantern for Lamplight Flare. Hide in a crystal's shadow, the pale blue strip behind it, or take a huge hit. At 50% he raises two Skeletons
- He drops Lampwarden's Lantern and the Little Lamplighter pet. Every kill also gives Hex Beads, Witch's Eyes, Crystals and Silver Coins, and sometimes Coal and Iron Ore
- 11 more Skeletons in the Crystal Mine
- The Reaver Captain is now Varric the Smokefang, and his pet is the Smokefang Wolf Pup. The Possessed Hobgoblin boss is now Ugrot the Unrested, and his axe is called Gobbler
- Trolls walk, run and swing slower, so you can now outrun them. Each hit is about twice as hard as before and cuts through far more armour
- NPCs that swing slowly now animate in time with their hits
Worn gear#
- Lampwarden's Lantern: a two-handed orb, Magic 25, 215 damage. It fights like an Arcane Orb III, Arcane Blast included, and lights the dark. It cannot be enchanted
Codex#
- Rare drops, pets included, are now guaranteed. Kill an NPC enough times (four times the drop's odds) and the drop is yours, as long as that slot in its log is still empty. Only the first copy is guaranteed; after that it is luck again
- Kills you already have count toward it, so some of you will get the drop on your next kill
- Once an NPC is Mastered, each rare drop you haven't found shows the kill that guarantees it
Mounts#
- The Brown Horse is now a Brown Horse Deed. Reading it teaches the Brown Horse spell and puts it on your Action Bar. Cast the spell to mount, and cast it again to dismount
